A magnitude 3.0 earthquake shook Malibu Friday evening at 7:15 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. 54 people reported feeling the earthquake from its epicenter, just 5 kilometers outside of Malibu. Geophysicist Shengzao Chen said earthquakes of this magnitude are typically shallow in intensity and generally do not cause major damage. There have been no reported injuries or damages in Malibu as a result of this earthquake.
