Malibu local Florence Wormser was named a winner in the 2013 Fabulous at Every Age search hosted by Harper’s Bazaar and Estée Lauder. The nationwide contest selected five winners, one in each age category, which included 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. At 48, Wormser won the 40s cat egory and will be featured in an article in the magazine.
After being selected as a win ner, Wormser was flown to New York, where she and a guest were treated to three days of pamper ing and prizes. While in New York, the winners attended a luncheon, where Brooke Shields awarded the women their prizes.
As a part of the contest, Wormser had to submit a person al essay and a photo. Wormser, who has gone through two brain surgeries and whose mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, explained the value of feeling good despite dealing with dif ficult times. Looking good and feeling good may go hand-in-hand, but the most important thing in life is the joie de vivre, Wormser said.
The 14-year Malibu local said her beauty icons are Brigitte Bardot and Grace Kelly, and she keeps fit with weightlifting class es and walking her dog.
