Miss World USA 2012 Claudine Book, a Malibu local, recently returned from a mission to bring clean drink ing water to Haiti in areas that are still devastated from the 2010 earthquake. Book raised $500,000 for Haiti through Miss World “Beauty with a Purpose” charity.
Miss World chair and owner Julia Morley and Dr. Ben Fredrick traveled with Book to follow up with the charity proj ects that are benefiting from the funds. Book visited the city of Pestel, where more than 70,000 people are suffering from dis eases like cholera and have limited medical resources.
