One Rescued From Car Over the Side of Kanan Dume Friday

One victim was rescued from a car that went over the side of Kanan Dume Road in Malibu Friday evening.

A call came in at approximately 6:45 p.m. Friday of a two-car collision about two miles north of Pacific Coast Highway. One vehicle was found overturned on the roadway while the other went 100 feet over the side of the canyon, according to a social media post from Malibu SAR.

Malibu Search and Rescue, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, LA County Air Ops, Los Angeles County Fire Department and McCormick Ambulance Service worked together to rescue the victim from the vehicle in the canyon, with LA County Air Ops hoisting the patient from the canyon and into an area trauma center.
