Despite being destroyed in the October fire, Malibu Presbyterian Church has announced it would follow through with its pledge from June to donate $500,000 to World Impact Ministries to build a teen center in central Los Angeles. The donation will be formally announced at the church’s Easter service on March 23rd at Bluffs Park. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will attend the service, which begins at 11 a.m.

“Christianity is a resurrection faith,” said Malibu Presbyterian’s Pastor Greg Hughes. “We believe in a God who rose from death for us. While we have lost a building, we are still a church. We are proud to partner with World Impact. Together, we work toward a common vision-to serve our community, help those in need and, in turn, bring Christ’s love to the City of Los Angeles. We cannot think of a better way to celebrate Easter than by helping World Impact.”
