I wish to recognize and thank Pepperdine University for its annual Wave of Flags that it annually displays in memory of the innocent victims and first responders who died on September 11, 2001, in New York City, Pennsylvania and outside Washington, D.C. Whether unfurling in a strong on-shore breeze or standing still in the dead of night lit by lamps, the assembly of flags representing the nations of those who died from around the world is a reverent tribute and a touching reminder to those of us that are alive.Â
I am grateful to the Pepperdine students who had this idea and to Pepperdine University for its annual display.Â
