Who are these people who are representing the city to the California Coastal Commission on the Malibu Local Coastal Program Land Use Plan? At the California Coastal Commission meeting on July 10, seven of the 12 commissioners stated that they had met with the city’s team: David Resnick of the Malibu Bay Company, Susan McCabe, consultant for the city of Malibu, and Jeff Jennings, mayor of Malibu. Why are the mayor and the city consultant teaming up with the biggest commercial developer to have meetings with the commissioners? Where are the residents’ rights? We all know how JJ plays his yo-yo effect to help the developers, but isn’t this a little too blatant?
Commissioner McClain-Hill, who was absent for most of the day of public testimony and Commissioner Hart who was noticeably asleep in his seat for a lot of the time, were the most vocal when supporting the city and the Malibu Bay Company.
Obviously the hidden agenda is out of the closet and is to use city funds to pay for the consultant to support billionaire Jerry Perrenchio’s Malibu Bay Company interests and not the residents. Any resident that believes otherwise is seriously misguided. If any of you misguided residents don’t realize the real intent of the city kicking up dust over local control, public access and ESHAs is to draw attention away from all the allowances the commission is making for commercial development, I have a $20 million ticket on the shuttle to the next galaxy for you.
