During the month of December, the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation (SMMEF) raised $312,000 for the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD) that will go into funding for Santa Monica and Malibu school programs.
Dun & Bradstreet led the way by providing a matching grant of $90,000, which was followed by 394 individual gifts throughout December.
“We are so pleased with the community’s tremendous response to the matching grant and grateful for Dun & Bradstreet’s leadership,” Kathleen Rawson, President of the SMMEF Board of Directors, wrote in a statement.
In addition to the matching grant, Dun & Bradstreet will also be donating an additional $20,000 that will go into funding its high school internship and college scholarship programs for SMMUSD students. In 2015, six high school students in the program received paid internships and were awarded college scholarships.
This is Dun & Bradstreet’s third year in making SMMEF a beneficiary of its national EdAhead program, which was established to provide support to educational initiatives in the communities where Dun & Bradstreet offices are located.
