Kathryn Blizzard Sausser died July 8 at the age of 51.
Sausser was born Aug. 21, 1961 in Los Angeles and lived her early years in Panorama City in the San Fernando Valley. She attended St. Genevieve’s Elementary School and Fulton Junior High.
When her parents moved to Malibu in 1976, Sausser attended and graduated from Santa Monica High School. Her summers were spent working at Swensons, swimming at Malibu West, water skiing, camping and even sky diving. After graduation from Samohi, Sausser attended Santa Barbara City College, and later Santa Monica College, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree.
Sausser chose to pursue cosmetology as a career path. She worked at the Michele International Salon in Pacific Palisades for more than 30 years. Sausser’s clients became her close friends and remained so throughout her career.
It was in the Palisades that Sausser met her husband, Todd. Shortly after they married, the couple moved to Topanga and began raising their family.
Sausser is survived by her husband and her children Shay, age 15, and Tanner, age 12. She was the loving daughter of Ken and Faith Blizzard, of Malibu, and loving daughter-in-law of Gordon and Martha Sausser.
“Kathy’s family sincerely thanks her many friends for all their prayers during her illness. She will now rest for eternity with her brothers in the arms of our Lord,” Sausser’s family wrote.
