Residents wait outside the once-shuttered Colony post office, hoping for 10 days’ worth of mail delivery.

The old Colony Station Post Office, located next to the Chevron gas station on Pacific Coast Highway, was closed Monday, Dec. 10, due to the damage from recent heavy rains.

It was unclear how long this closure would last.

Residents who need to collect mail held during the Woolsey Fire and those who have P.O. boxes at the Point Dume Post Office are being directed to the Agoura Hills Post Office, located at 5158 Clareton Drive, Agoura Hills. Its hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, and 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

People are asked to bring photo identification to retrieve the mail.

According to the City of Malibu, the Point Dume Post Office and the La Costa station will have retail services available for residents.

For the latest on where mail can be retrieved, call 323.586.1415. Street delivery will continue, dependent on weather conditions.
