The fate of Measure S presents the terrifying possibility that our school system, which we have justified pride in, will suffer irrevocable damage from a massive loss in funding. Everyone must vote in support of Measure S, which will help save our schools.
Great staff makes great schools. The possible job loss of Lorraine Staab askindergarten teacher at Webster Elementary is most shocking to the parents who had the honor of her teaching their children. Mrs. Staab is the fantasy kindergarten teacher every little boy and girl dreams of. Sweet, firm, smart, calming, funny, challenging, young and enthusiastic, she’s a beautiful woman inside and out. As parents whose children have been educated on two continents, we can say they don’t come any better. We looked forward to our youngest child attending her class this fall and are heartbroken this may not be the case.
For those without children or don’t think it matters to you, please consider: Every community is reflected in its children and they in turn impact our community. They receive its encouragement and its neglect. The more positive the academic experience, the more cheerful and constructive our children are in school and out, improving our community is as a whole. If we lose wonderful role models like Mrs. Staab, we lose a chance to start our children off with the right positive attitude for their lives and ours.
Please vote YES for Measure S.
