A structure fire in the 22300 block of Pacific Coast Highway in Eastern Malibu has LA County Sheriffs diverting both lanes of northbound (westbound) traffic into the median, though Sheriffs believe the fire has been extinguished.
According to Sheriffs at the Malibu/Lost Hills Station, the fire took place in a non-residential building and no injuries have been reported.
“I have not heard of any injuries whatsoever,” said Watch Commander Lt. Williams.
Sheriffs received word at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday that a fire had broken out at a business along PCH near Carbon Canyon Rd.
Williams added that it is his understanding that the fire was out by 9:15 p.m., although Sheriffs are still awaiting official word from LA County Fire.
“I was told that the fire department had the fire out. They’re all still there and they’re checking for a possible cause,” Williams stated.
It is not known when lanes will reopen.
