[Update: 11:42 a.m.]: The pedestrian killed in the traffic collision has been identified as a male in his early 20s, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Tao.
“The call came out [at] 4:59 this morning as [a] vehicle vs. pedestrian,” Tao said, adding that the man was pronounced dead at 5:10 a.m. at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.
The name of the victim is not being released until the next of kin is notified, Tao said.
A pedestrian was struck and killed near Topanga Canyon Boulevard on Pacific Coast Highway earlier today, May 25.
According to California Highway Patrol reports, both eastbound lanes were closed for hours while investigators were on the scene.
All lanes were reopened as of 9:04 a.m. No information about the deceased individual has been released.
