The Pepperdine women’s golf team came in second place at the Golfweek Conference Challenge this past month, with juniors Katherine Zhu and Tatiana Wijaya, and sophomore Hira Naveed making it into the top 11 at the close of the initial performances.
For the first time in her collegiate career, Zhu, a Vancouver native, posted back-to-back below-par rounds. Initially tied for second place with a 3-under 141 during the first part of the competition, Zhu closed out the challenge later with a fourth place standing in the top individual placement.
Naveed, from Perth, Australia, started off in 11th place with an even-par 144 (73-71), but finished in 13th overall. And tied for fourth place with a 2-under 142 (68-74), Wijaya of Jakarta, Indonesia, finished in 14th.
The ladies are off to Highlands Ranch, Colorado to compete in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate hosted by The University of Denver this weekend.
