UCLA Health is sponsoring an educational forum about organ donation on Saturday, March 12 at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, where myths and facts surrounding donation will be discussed.
“Organ donation is understandably a difficult topic to address, and most difficult if you are in a hospital room facing this decision on behalf of a loved one,” Holly Maino, RN, transplant coordinator at the UCLA Liver and Intestine Transplant program, said in a statement. “That’s why it’s so important to consider the option beforehand.”
Panelists include medical experts and beneficiaries of organ donations, as well as a representative from an organ procurement organization.
The forum runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica Auditorium, 1250 16th Street in Santa Monica. To reserve a spot, call 800.516.5323. Registration required.
