The Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors is offering free, filled sandbags to residents wanting to protect their property from this winter’s predicted El Niño storms. Bags are available at eight L.A. County beaches, including Zuma Beach here in Malibu and Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades, through March 6.
Up to 10 free bags will be available per person. For more information on pick-up locations, proper sandbag placement and property protection resources, visit lacounty.gov/elnino.
Editor’s note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that the sandbags would be available the first week of November.
