Stacy Davis is honored during a ceremony at a Pepperdine game against Santa Clara on Saturday for breaking the Waves’ all-time scoring record.

Stacy Davis became the Pepperdine men’s basketball program’s all-time leading scorer during last Thursday’s game against Santa Clara.

Davis surpassed a record of 1,701 points set by Dane Suttle in 1983 and finished the game with 1,713 points. The record-breaking performance earned him his 12th double-double of the season with team highs of 20 points and and 12 rebounds, which also moved him into third place on the Waves’ all-time rebounding list.

“You know, it hasn’t really hit me yet, but it feels good,” Davis said in a release sent by Pepperdine Athletics. “Being able to do it in front of these fans, and see them stand up and give me an ovation, it was pretty surreal. It’s a moment that I will absolutely remember for the rest of my life.”

Davis was also named the West Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 22.
