The National Park Service (NPS) issued a red flag warning for the Santa Monica Mountains area as of this morning (Oct. 13) until tomorrow, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. According to an alert from the city, a “lingering marine layer” helped delay fire conditions in the area.
Santa Ana winds (going anywhere from 30-50 m.p.h.) are expected to gust over Ventura and Los Angeles counties over the weekend. With dry air conditions, NPS cautions residents in light of fire danger.
The warning has also been issued to Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys.
Due to the red flag warning, Trancas Canyon Park will remained closed. For more information, call 310.317.1364.
