Three mountain lion kittens were born just weeks ago in the Malibu Springs area of the Santa Monica Mountains, according to National Park Service.Â
NPS biologists tagged the kittens’ ears and dubbed them as P-32, P-33 and P-34. Their mother is a mountain lion known as P-19 and tests results are pending to determine the father’s identity. This is P-19’s second litter of kittens, according to NPS.
Malibu Springs is located in unincorporated Malibu southeast of Circle X Ranch. NPS monitors approximately 22 mountain lions with GPS collars in the Santa Monica Mountains.
