The Chamber of Commerce held its 15th annual Malibu Golf Tournament on Sept. 17 at Malibu Country Club. Entertainer Cheech Marin served as honorary chair of the event, which included foursomes playing a best-ball format game. Following the game, there was a cocktail reception and dinner. A live auction also took place to raise money for the chamber and the Las Virgenes Optimist Club.

The winning foursome was the Zuma Canyon Orchids, which included George Vasquez, Kelly Parris, Jamie Zamora and Jerry Leng. The players’ names were put on the Finley Trophy, named for the late Sheriff’s Department captain and Pepperdine professor Hayden Finley. Also, this year was the first competition between teams from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station and the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The Malibu/Lost Hills players won, and received a plaque that they get to keep for at least a year until next year’s competition.
