Longtime Malibu resident Albert Sweet was awarded an honorary doctorate at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in June. A celebratory luncheon took place at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood in tribute of Sweet’s honor on Aug. 17.
Sweet was given the degree for his vision, creativity and commitment to Israel and Technion that has spanned several decades. He created the Albert Sweet Scholarship Fund that provides financial support for undergraduate and graduate students at the university.
The degree-awarding ceremony took place at the campus in Haifa.
