Susan Tellem’s campaign rhetoric defies reason. She claims the mantle of anti-overnight camping, but she supported the Coastal Commission Land Use Plan for Malibu, which mandated overnight camping in Malibu. She claims she is for reducing commercial development in the Civic Center, but she derides the City for buying the Chili Cook-Off site, which prevented a 150,000 square foot development there.
Now the City has a park instead of a shopping center, but she’s not happy, She calls Legacy Park “Lunacv Park.” Of late, she has seen the light and is interested in public schools, despite a long history of deriding public schools and the greedy parents who supported school bonds. She says it’s time to let her change things at City Hall. Is she kidding?
