The Pepperdine Waves hosted beach volleyball teams from Long Beach State University as well as Cal State Northridge (CSUN) and Bakersfield for the annual Zuma Classic tournament on a rainy March 2 on Zuma Beach.
Pepperdine came out on top in all three matches, with scores of 5-0 versus Bakersfield, 4-1 versus Long Beach State and a final of 4-1 versus CSUN. According to Pepperdine Athletics, the Waves beach volleyball team holds a 45-2 all-time win-loss record for play at home, which traditionally takes place at Zuma. This season, they have an undefeated, 3-0, home game streak.
The Zuma Classic kicked off their home play for the season; this week, the Waves take on the UCLA Bruins here in Malibu.Â
