[Update: 7:45 p.m.] An individual has been rescued from the vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries, sheriff’s officials confirmed Thursday evening.

Sheriff’s officials reported one lane of Kanan Road closed Thursday evening, Jan. 14, after a single vehicle went over the side of the road at around 5 p.m.

Sgt. Dunn of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station, speaking from the station in Agoura Hills, reported a single car went over the side of the road and California Highway Patrol, Sheriff’s, L.A. County Fire and Malibu Search and Rescue responded.

“What I was told — and again I’m not there — a vehicle did go over the side about 300 feet down,” Dunn said. “A call cam in that said there was a traffic accident 1.5 miles north of Pacific Coast Highway.”

One lane is closed, but traffic was not backed up in either direction as of 5:45 p.m., according to Dunn.
