Arroyo Sequit Bridge

The bridge over the Arroyo Sequit Creek in Leo Carrillo State Park was placed Tuesday, Nov. 29, as part of the second phase of construction in the area, which started three months ago. State Parks Angeles District Superintendent Craig Sap shared the construction update with The Malibu Times, and said that the bridge is expected to “be completed and open to the public sometime mid-January 2017.

“This bridge provides access to the day-use parking lot, which we refer to as North Beach,” Sap said in a Tuesday email. “It is in four sections and should take the rest of the day to complete.”

The Leo Carrillo State Park bridge initially began construction in 2015 to improve habitat for endangered steelhead trout living in the Arroyo Sequit Creek, provide easier beach access and restore creek water quality.
