The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department has identified a body found lying next to a vehicle at the bottom of Newton Canyon in Malibu below Kanan Dume Road last week.
Hjalmar Ashley DeGeorge was found on Tuesday, July 15.
The death was ruled a suicide and the case has been closed by the department, according to a Coroner’s Department spokesperson.
DeGeorge was a 31-year old Agoura Hills resident, who graduated from Agoura Hills High School in 2001.
His body was found on Tuesday evening but it was not until Wednesday morning, July 16, that county personnel were able to evacuate the body and begin the investigation.
