The following was addressed to Carlos Lluch and Louisa Callery who wrote “Disease of Addiction:” I’m speechless. This letter was one of the most breathtaking acts of love and courage I have ever witnessed. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine.
In your son’s honor, whose birthday was the same as my own, I will most certainly share your words with others, in the hope that this painful chapter of his life will in some way help others avoid that dark road he stumbled upon.
My prayers are with you. My heart wraps itself as best it can around yours, in whatever comfort that might offer. You are most certainly not alone, as we all hold you gently with our care and shared sorrow.
