In its ninth season, the Malibu Film Society (MFS) announced two film screenings featuring Q&A sessions for Sept. 8 and 9.
“Elizabeth Blue,” 2017 Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival’s Best Dramatic Film, will screen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8. Writer-director Vincent Sabella and actresses Anna Schafer and Kathleen Quinlan will be present for the Q&A.
The next day, the film society will team up with the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project (WRRAP) to host a fundraiser honoring Sam Elliott and Katharine Ross, who will be in attendance. The night begins with a catered reception at 6:30 p.m. hosted by local writer and television producer Mallory Lewis. A screening of “Grandma,” a 2015 comedy-drama starring Lily Tomlin and Sam Elliott, will follow. Tickets are $75 for MFS members, $85 for guests of MFS members and $100 for non-members. All proceeds will be donated to WRRAP. RSVP by Tuesday, Sept. 5 is required; visit malibufilmsociety.org for more information and to reserve your spot.
