The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning and Wind Advisory beginning Monday until Wednesday for Los Angeles County due to winds exceeding 35 MPH and extremely low humidities.
The NWS said the wind advisory also includes Downtown Los Angeles and will last to 12 noon PST on Wednesday.
This advisory also comes with a warning to drivers as the wind speeds could make driving difficult especially for those who drive high profile vehicles. From Malibu to Hollywood Hills, winds between 15 and 20 MPH with gusts of 35 to 40 MPH are expected below the passes and canyons. Over the mountains, the speeds will be even greater reaching up to 70 MPH.
These speeds will result in humidity percentages between 8 and 12 percent. With the low humidity percentages and high wind speeds, the possibility of a fire is greatly increased. There may be a slight lull around the late afternoon and evening hours but expect gusty winds throughout the mornings.
The NWS states that winds will be at their strongest in the early to mid-mornings with gusts of wind between 40 to 50 MPH and also advises to use caution during this time.
