More than 100 firefighters were called out Friday to fight a brushfire off Mulholland Highway, achieving knockdown at approximately 12:37 p.m.
At 11:59 a.m. Friday 115 firefighters were dispatched to 35102 Mulholland Highway after receiving reports of light smoke in the area, said Sgt. Qvondo Johnson of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, as well as four helicopters and two “superscooper” planes. Knockdown was achieved at 12:37, and the firefighters achieved 100 percent containment at approximately 1:24 p.m.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, as of 3:30 p.m. investigators were still at the scene.
Malibu and surrounding cities are currently under a Red Flag Warning, with high winds and very low humidity.
