Crystal Dawn Alexander, a fourth-generation Malibu resident who is the daughter of third-generation Malibu residents Bruce and Linda Alexander, married Joseph Kennard Swabeck on June 24. The wedding took place at the Japanese Garden at Cal State Long Beach, which is where the couple met — and graduated with honors.
The couple honeymooned on a Caribbean cruise. They plan to live near the University of California, Berkeley, where Swabeck teaches and works as a researcher. Crystal, who graduated from Juan Cabrillo Elementary and Malibu High schools, will continue teaching high school art.
