On Monday evening, the Malibu Planning Commission approved a modified use permit for a new restaurant to open at the site of the old BeauRivage Restaurant.

The proposed hours of operation for the restaurant were modified due to concern of the capacity of the onsite wastewater treatment system, according to Planning Director Joyce Parker-Bozylinski.

The restaurant will be permitted to serve brunch on weekends but not during the week. A request to stay open until 1 a.m. was also turned down. The restaurant will allowed to be open utnil 11 p.m.

The old BeauRivage restaurant site suffered $400,000 in damages in a 2012 fire after new owner Bob Morris, who also owns Paradise Cove, purchased the site. The owner has since been working to rebuild and renovate the restaurant.
