Dexter was born May 5, 1917 and was raised in Glendale, Calif., moving to Las Flores Beach in 1949. She and her husband, Robert, raised their children Bruce, Glen and Lynda in Malibu and were known for welcoming many local children into their home as well. Dexter enjoyed surfing, fishing and playing volleyball with her friends and family. She was a past president of the Malibu Woman’s Club, a member of the Malibu Republican Club and served as the PTA president for Webster Elementary School. Dexter was also a benefactor of many Malibu institutions, such as Legacy Park and Pepperdine University.
She is remembered by those who knew her as a kind and generous person.
Dexter is survived by her children Glenn and Linda Lee; her grandchildren Luke, Kelsey, Donna Lee and Brian Lee; her eight great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Dexter, who died in 1999, and her son Bruce, who died in 2007.
