Malibu man charged after attempt to parachute from Empire State Building
Jeb Ray Corliss IV, host of the Discovery Channel show “Stunt Junkies,” was charged with reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and other offenses last week after he attempted to parachute off the top of the Empire State Building last Thursday.
According to the New York Daily News, Corliss ripped off a disguise that included a fat suit, gray wig and a latex mask and climbed the 10-foot security fence around the 86th-floor observation deck. But before he could jump, security guards and police officers reached through the fence and handcuffed Corliss.
Corliss, 30, wore a helmet fitted with a camera. The Discovery Channel later fired him, according to a statement released late Friday.
