Local Malibu artist Carla Marlenée Bates, design assistant for The Malibu Times, and her son, artist and Malibu High School Surfrider Foundation Club President Declan Bates, held a joint art show in Santa Monica on Saturday, Sept. 8, with proceeds supporting the Surfrider Foundation.
The theme of the show, which was held at Gallery 169, was “surf art.”
