As part of The Malibu Times coverage of the upcoming City Council election on Nov. 6, the newspaper will be interviewing each of the five candidates and publishing Q&As. The candidates are vying for two seats vacated by Lou La Monte and Laura Rosenthal.
The first interview will appear in the Sept. 27 issue, and will continue in the editions leading up to the election.
The randomly selected order is as follows:

2. Mikke Pierson
3. Lance Simmens
4. Karen Farrer
5. Olivia Damavandi

The candidates will also be participating in forums; two more have been announced so far. The first will be held by the Malibu Association of Realtors at the HRL Laboratories Auditorium (2011 Malibu Canyon Road) on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 6-8 p.m. The second will be the Malibu Democratic Club Forum on Sunday, Oct. 7, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at Malibu Public Library (23519 W. Civic Center Way).
