3.2 earthquake hits off Malibu coast

A 3.2 magnitude earthquake struck just off the coast of Malibu late Thursday night, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake happened at 10:58 p.m. and was centered about 3 kilometers southeast of Point Dume in Malibu, USGS reported.

Residents in Latigo Canyon, Corral Canyon, the Malibu Colony and Monte Nido toldĀ The Malibu Times on Facebook they felt the strong, rolling shake. Readers as far as Topanga and Santa Monica said the felt the quake too.Ā
