I was involved in a hit and run accident on Sunday, May 29, at 8:30 p.m.

I was driving my Toyota Celica south on Topanga Canyon Boulevard by the Topanga Overlook when I came around the bend and saw a large, dark-colored SUV (one witness said it was a BMW 7 series, possibly dark green) blocking my lane. The driver was pulling out of dirt lot on the right and trying to turn left. Immediately after the accident, he fled the scene and drove south toward downtown Topanga. The other car was hit somewhere between the driver’s side door and the front bumper.

I am desperate. I am currently on Social Security disability and I am a stage-four cancer patient. My car was totaled, and the insurance company informed me that, because I have opted for low-income insurance, property damages to my vehicle are not covered. My only recourse is to find the driver that hit me in order to replace my car. I have little income and no savings — $750 a month to cover everything from soup to nuts. I am in need of car to see doctors, buy food and basically live in Los Angeles. If anyone witnessed this accident or saw the other vehicle. Please contact California Highway Patrol or call me at 310.968.5272. I also have photos of the intersection and the damage done to my car.
