A July 4 fire at Malibu Creek State Park was contained by firefighters at approximately 5 p.m. The blaze, which started at a nearby mobile home a little before 3:30 p.m., destroyed about 25 acres. The cause of the fire is not known.

The fire was quickly put out at the mobile home park, but flames spread to nearby brush, Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s officials said. More than 200 people camping in the state park were evacuated. Traffic was also closed temporarily in both directions on Las Virgenes Canyon Road. No injuries were reported.
