Deputy John Young, Jr. of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station has been awarded for Outstanding Traffic Enforcement by the Peace Officers Association of Los Angeles County. The association awarded 13 officers from throughout the country at a ceremony at the University of Southern California on March 21, according to a statement from the sheriff’s department.
Before joining the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Young served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He has been a deputy sheriff with the county for 15 years and has worked as a traffic enforcement deputy in Malibu for eight years.
