The nonprofit organization Los Angeles Emergency Preparedness Foundation is working to conduct a study of the Woolsey Fire by working with experts and professors. The group is currently looking for residents who are interested in sharing their “stay and defend” experience.
“Help us build an even more resilient Malibu Community as we work to better understand the contributing influences and experiences of people staying and defending properties during the fire,” a shared statement read.
Findings and suggestions based on the independent study will be shared with residents as well as local and state officials.
Anyone who stayed behind during the fire and is interested in sharing their experience should email the organization at wildfire@LAEPF.org with contact information such as a phone number and/or email. Their identities will remain confidential.
