Actress and model Katie Cleary held a screening recently for her documentary “Give Me Shelter,” at the Malibu Screening Room. The film seeks to educate the public on the truth of what goes on behind closed doors in puppy mills, circuses, the dangers for orangutangs in the forest, elephants in Africa and other animals being mistreated.
Friends and family showed up at the event for appetizers and drinks prior to the screening, followed by a Q&A. Cleary, who has been passionate about animal rights since her youth, spoke about choices consumers can make in purchasing products to positively impact the lives of animals in danger.
