After months of speculation, the Whole Foods and the Park complex at Civic Center Way is set to open to the Malibu public on Wednesday, June 12.

According to an emailed statement from the chain market, it will be hosting opening day celebrations with samples, music and giveaways starting at 8 a.m. The first 300 shoppers will receive a custom tote bag with swag items and more.

Five percent of the store’s June 27 net sales will go to the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu.

Malibu store leader Amy La Boube, in the emailed statement, said, “We look forward to serving the community and providing our customers with the tastiest and highest quality natural and organic food available.”

A pre-opening celebration, “Party in the Parking Lot,” is also set to occur on Saturday, June 8, from 2-5 p.m. This free event will feature activities for the whole family including face painting, screen printing, games and more.

The Whole Foods Market store hours will be 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily.

It is unclear when the other stores in the park complex are slated to open.

Editor’s note: This brief has been updated to clarify that a portion of the sales will be donated on June 27.
