    Olivia Thonson

Described as bright, humble, caring and loving, Olivia Thonson is Malibu High School’s recipient of the Citizenship Award. With this year’s nomination, Thonson received the rare honor of becoming a two-time award winner; she previously won the award as an elementary school student at Point Dume Marine Science School.

Academically, she maintained a 3.9 unweighted grade point average with honors and AP classes. The high school senior participated in a number of activities—including mock trial and For the Girls Club while serving as a peer mentor. As an advocate for women’s rights, she attended a march in Washington, DC, following the inauguration of President Donald Trump in 2017.

Thonson will take her political interests to North Carolina, where she will be attending Wake Forest University with a major in political science.
