STRIKING A CHORD

They’ll be rocking the house next Friday as Nancy Davis gathers her fashionable friends like Malibu’s Brooke Burke to celebrate at the annual Race to Erase MS fundraiser. The starry gala has raised millions for the Nancy Davis Foundation and its Center Without Walls program. The event always features top name entertainment and this year is no exception with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts taking center stage.

The evening kicks off with a flashy fashion show and a preview of the new Andrew Charles line, which will be out this fall.

Once again, Nancy is going all out with her live auction items, which include a week in the Bahamas on a private yacht, a 10-day Kenyan safari, a fab fling to Bora Bora and a Hollywood party for 50 of your closest friends. There’s even a day of shopping with celebutantes Paris and Nicky Hilton. The festivities unfold at the Century Plaza Hotel on April 29.

GETTING IN TUNE

Music lovers will be wrapping up a harmonious first season of Le Salon de Musiques. The ensemble, which features some of the city’s most renowned chamber music performers, takes its final bow for 2011 on May 15. The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will be filled with soothing sounds for the special one-hour concert.

Musical masters will be tickling the ivories with Mozart’s “Sonata K 448 in D Major” for two pianos followed by Rachmaninoff’s “Suite No. 1 ‘Fantasy-Tableaux’ Opus 5” for two pianos.

It’s an afternoon of entertainment and education as the audience learns about the history of the music and the composers. The event gets even more effervescent as they break out the bubbly and finish it all off with a gourmet feast prepared by Patina. The series of intimate performances included a sonatina and piano quintet by Dvorak as well as works by Schubert, Ravel, Debussy and Brahms.

SOMETHING TO SING ABOUT

Local entertainment titans Jeffrey Katzenberg and Haim Saban were among the heavy hitters who turned out at the Beverly Hilton for the annual “A Night at Sardi’s” soirée. The event was founded in honor of the Broadway legend Abe Burrows and has raised millions for the Alzheimer’s Association. Disney chief Robert Iger, who was this year’s honoree, accepted the Sardi’s award in his mother’s name. A special presentation was also made to Laura Suihkonen Jones who was named Caregiver of the Year.

The highlight of the evening was a lively musical revue. Emcee Seth Rogen introduced the all star cast that included “Grey’s Anatomy” star Patrick Dempsey, song and dance man David Hyde Pierce and the incomparable “Hot in Cleveland” star Betty White. The evening wrapped up with a little Cole Porter courtesy of heartthrob Nick Jonas.
