Sign off lawn signs

I request that the candidates not display lawn signs during their campaigns. These signs are an insult to the intelligence of the public, and they could be an environmental hazard. I think that today’s voters are too sophisticated to be influenced by signs. In order to inform the public, the candidates could use newspapers like this one, public forums, host neighborhood get-togethers, and clearly tell the voters on the “official sample ballot and voter information booklet” what they intend to do.

If the signs are not biodegradable or recyclable they will fill our landfills for generations to come. In conclusion, campaign lawn signs are obsolete. I suggest that the candidates get together and agree not to put up these obnoxious eyesores. A Happy New Year to all, and a successful campaign for the candidates.
