Malibu musician performs for Junior Blind of America

Perkins School for the Blind singer John Castillo, Malibu jazz pianist Lisa Hilton and Berklee College of Music guitarist Neo Socha take a bow after performing at a concert in Sept. 2011.

Malibu musician Lisa Hilton performed for Junior Blind of America in Los Angeles March 27.

The local jazz musician frequently performs for children with disabilities around the country. She will also visit Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind, Perkins School for the Blind and Berklee College of Music’s new Adaptive Lab for the Blind this spring.

“I think we have made great strides for women and for minorities in our society, but we need to help those with physical disabilities as well,” Hilton said in a press release. “I feel lucky to work with these students.”

Hilton released her new album, “American Impressions,” March 27. She will be touring in California and on the East Coast in connection with the album release.
