The Malibu Girls U10 all-star team earned third place in the 2013 Kickoff Classic in Downey, their first tournament playing together. The team is made up of players from four different Malibu schools.
The local team lost the first game by a close score of 4-3 and tied the second 1-1. The next day, the girls earned a win, leading them to the semifinals. The Malibu team played hard, but lost the semifinals to a more experienced team from Santa Barbara, which had been playing together for more than a year.
