The Cornucopia Foundation’s Environmental Learning Center (ELC) has been granted permission to resume operation. Between August 2014 and January 2015, access onto Cornucopia’s ELC property was restricted due to the ongoing PCB testing at Malibu High School.
After many tests, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District failed to find toxins in the soil at the center and has cleared the learning center for use again.
With the recent approval of use, the foundation is well underway and nearing completion of restoring the center’s grounds, gardens and structures after significant damage from wind and drought.
In addition, Cornucopia is offering small grants for environmental projects and began accepting requests to provide environmental education classes to all Malibu schools.
