A storm out of Alaska is expected to bring high tides to Malibu this week, according to beach advisory sent out by the City of Malibu. The storm, which is from the Gulf of Alaska, will bring a building northwest swell into Southern California and it is expected to arrive in the afternoon on Wednesday, Oct. 29, creating elevated surf of four to seven feet on west-facing beaches.
According to the alert, there is a chance a high surf advisory may be needed beginning Wednesday afternoon through the morning of Thursday, Oct. 30.
Astronomical high tides around six and a half feet are expected across Los Angeles and Ventura county beaches around 9 a.m. on Tuesday Oct. 27, and 10 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the advisory.
